Triple Protection. Fully Secured! ---What is Navihood B2 Expression Radar Taillight?

Navihood’s brand-new B2 Expression Radar Laser Taillight is our first smart radar taillight. We provide safety protection for your ride everywhere, at any time!

Although there are already many radar taillights from various manufacturers on the market with widely varying prices, why did we decide to develop our own?

First, smart technology is our core advantage, and we aim to create a highly intelligent radar-sensor product with exceptional accuracy.

Second, we wanted to build an innovative safety taillight that adds multiple layers of protection beyond radar detection to ensure truly safe riding.

We believe that current radar taillights on the market still cannot achieve 100% alert accuracy. After long-term internal testing and optimization, the Navihood B2 strives to minimize false alarms and missed detections, focusing on precision and safety so riders can enjoy absolute peace of mind.

By combining Dynamic Expressions + Wide-Angle Radar + Laser Projection, we deliver triple protection—ensuring what you see is truly what’s happening behind you, and what it shows clearly reflects potential risks, keeping your rides safer than ever.

Let’s take a closer look at the detailed features of our B2.

Initial Setup via the Navihood App

When using the B2 Emoji-Style Radar Laser Taillight for the first time, we recommend downloading and opening the Navihood App, connecting the B2, and completing the initial setup to personalize the device. You can easily enable or disable any features based on your preferences.

We designed an exceptionally large radar sensing area. With an overall length of 98 mm, nearly two-thirds of the device houses the radar module to ensure high sensitivity. A 45-degree field of view provides ample detection coverage for most riding scenarios.

  • Using imported high-sensitivity radar components and extensive real-world testing, the B2 can accurately alert riders based on approaching vehicle distance and speed.

  • When a vehicle approaches at over 10 km/h, the taillight provides alerts via different colors.

  • The maximum detection distance reaches 150 meters, and it can simultaneously detect up to 8 vehicles behind.

  • In the app’s radar interface, you can switch radar detection on/off to save power.

  • Even without a professional cycling computer, you can use the in-app radar page for real-time detection and battery display.

  • The radar is fully compatible with Navihood L1/L2 computers as well as nearly all BLE/ANT-based GPS computers, such as Garmin and Wahoo.

To achieve optimal radar performance, we maintained a balanced design. The B2’s size is comparable to the Wahoo RVR (one of the largest and best-performing radar taillights on the market). We believe a certain size is essential for radar accuracy, so we avoided overly miniaturized designs. However, every surface and angle is rounded and refined to ensure the product looks sleek despite its slightly larger build.

In heavy traffic, the radar shows up to eight vehicles and emphasizes the closest threats through color and depth changes (compatible with universal progress-bar alerts; Navihood computers have their own color logic).

In low-traffic situations, it minimizes false alarms—something riders often find frustrating.

In parks or quiet paths, when no vehicles are present, it correctly shows zero detections. If users ever encounter false alerts, feedback is welcome—we continuously optimize our radar algorithms.

The biggest difference between the B2 and all other radar taillights is our customizable emoji display. Users can create entirely unique expression patterns, making riding safer and more fun.

We recommend enabling the automatic playback feature in the app and entering the Expression Market, where you can design dynamic, static, or text-based icons and sync them to the B2.

You can also share your creations with the global Navihood community—because fun is better when shared.

The B2 uses BLE 5.0 (custom protocol) + ANT+ dual-mode for app and computer connectivity.

  • Connect to the app when customizing expressions.

  • Connect to your cycling computer during rides.
    The operation is extremely simple.

  •

From the app’s radar page, you can enable data syncing—speed, cadence, heart rate, power, gradient, laps, and distance—and display them on the B2’s expression screen. Team riders can even show the same data for coordinated training.

  • You can also enable:

  • Smart turn signals (auto display when paired with the L2 computer)

  •

                                                                                                                                Emergency braking alerts
(large exclamation mark when braking hard)

  •                                                                                                                                           Auto light sensing
(built-in sensor switches lights based on ambient brightness)

We hope continuous innovation brings you a fresh sense of safety and fun. If you enjoy expressive and dynamic display features, B2 is your best choice!

Laser Safety Line – The Third Layer of Protection

To further enhance safety, we added nighttime laser projection as the third layer of protection. The downward laser forms a visible safety boundary on the ground, reminding approaching vehicles to keep a distance.

If you don’t need it during the day, simply disable it in the app to extend battery life.

Hardware Durability & Build Quality

The B2 uses Navihood’s patented aluminum alloy anti-break base, the same durable design used on all Navihood computers weighing over 80 g.

Navihood Cycling APP — Building a Seamless Bridge Between Navihood Users and Platforms Like Strava

One of the most significant industry events last year was the dispute between Strava and Garmin. In October 2025, Strava formally filed a lawsuit against industry leader Garmin, accusing it of violating their cooperation agreement and copying Strava’s core patented technologies, including Segments , Heatmaps , and route recommendation features . At the same time, Garmin updated its API policies, imposing stricter limitations on how third-party platforms can use and display data. This indirectly affected Strava’s data synchronization and user experience. These developments triggered strong reactions from users and highlighted an increasingly intense battle over data control, feature innovation, and ownership of the user experience . As a company whose core business is hardware sales, we closely follow how leading platforms and brands cooperate—and compete—with each other. As a team that has long focused on GPS cycling computers as our core product, hardware has always been our founda...
